Five of Wands
The Five of Wands traditionally speaks to conflict, competition, and the friction that arises when multiple strong impulses or individuals are all pushing in different directions at once. Saturn's limiting influence on Leo's natural confidence and creative drive produces a kind of frustrated energy — the desire for recognition and forward movement blocked by opposition, disagreement, or the sheer chaos of competing forces. Not all of the conflict the card describes is destructive; sometimes it is the productive friction of debate, creative competition, or the early stages of a negotiation that hasn't yet found its terms. But the energy is scattered and effortful regardless of whether the outcome is ultimately generative.
Imagery
Commonly depicted as five figures, each wielding a staff, apparently in conflict or contest — but whether they are fighting in earnest or engaged in a rough sporting competition is often deliberately ambiguous. The scene is energetic and disordered, with wands crossing at many angles.
A reference, not a reading. This is the card on its own… a reading reads how it falls with the others.
