South Node

Point · the familiar / past gifts

The South Node — the familiar and already-mastered, the comfort to grow beyond.

Opposite the North Node, the South Node marks what is already deeply familiar — innate gifts, ingrained patterns, the well-worn groove a person falls into without effort. It is a place of genuine competence and also of overreliance: the default that soothes but no longer grows. The South Node is not to be discarded so much as drawn upon and released — the ballast carried forward, balanced against the North Node's pull toward what is still unlived.
