Temperance
Temperance is the card of integration and the patient work of combining what seems irreconcilable into a new, more workable whole. Sagittarius lends it a philosophical and expansive quality — this is not bland compromise but active synthesis, the alchemical process of transmutation through careful mixing. Traditionally it speaks to moderation not as deprivation but as the calibration of energies so that none overwhelms the rest; it governs health, relationships, creative processes, and any situation where two different things must be brought into a productive relationship rather than forced to defeat each other. Time is implicit in the card — the process it describes is ongoing and unhurried.
Imagery
Temperance is often depicted as a winged angelic figure standing with one foot on land and one in water, carefully pouring liquid between two cups in an apparently impossible upward flow — suggesting the movement of energy against simple gravity. A golden triangle within a circle is commonly shown on the figure's robe, and a solar crown or radiant path is frequently visible in the background.
A reference, not a reading. This is the card on its own… a reading reads how it falls with the others.
