Justice
Justice is the card of objective truth, accountability, and the principle that action and consequence are bound together in proportion. Libra's scales govern it, and the card's traditional meaning is notably unsentimental: it does not traffic in mercy or forgiveness (those belong elsewhere in the Major Arcana) but in accurate reckoning. Where Justice appears, the question of fairness is live — whether a situation is being assessed honestly, whether responsibility is being claimed or deflected, whether what is being offered or demanded is proportionate. It also speaks to legal matters, agreements, and any domain where the terms of exchange are being formally established.
Imagery
Justice is often depicted as a robed, enthroned figure holding a sword upright in one hand and a pair of balanced scales in the other. The double-pillared setting and the figure's direct gaze are traditional — she looks neither left nor right but straight ahead, suggesting that judgment, to be just, must be free of partiality.
A reference, not a reading. This is the card on its own… a reading reads how it falls with the others.
